Previous Shows
First Light
Our first Playground Presents show, First Light will take place at Dartford Library (Tue 4 - Wed 5 June) and Gravesend Library (Fri 7 - Sat 8 June).
First Light is an immersive, intimate experience that explores the wonders of our sensory development in early childhood.
Inspired by baby lab research into the expanding vision of babies from birth until 18 months, this 15-minute installation distills the world of awakening perception into a unique show. Real-life soundscapes harmonies and echo a newborn’s hearing as lights twinkle and colour slowly fills the world.
Co-created by theatre-maker Daniel Naddafy, and artist & lighting designer Marty Langthorne, First Light is designed to be enjoyed by babies aged 0-18 months and their families.
Each ticket covers entry into the performance pod for up to 4 people (including the baby)
First Light was first presented and co-commissioned by the Barbican in 2021 and developed with support from Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts and Half Moon Theatre.
